Simon started his career working in academic research at various Universities and had experience of working on several EU funded projects. He spent time working in Sweden & Norway helping to coordinate and manage an environmental impact project for the EU that included over 20 partner Universities from more than 10 countries.
Following this, Simon moved into several senior manager roles involving the management of turnover in excess of £4 million per annum and the direct line management of a team of upwards of 50 staff. He was responsible for staff training, development and helping to set the sales strategy to achieve the yearly targets.
Since joining John Smith Group, Simon has had experience running all parts of the business from Account Management of specific schemes and institutions to being a Regional Manager taking overall responsibility for a large swathe of the business. Simon has set up and ran a multitude of schemes in order to support and enhance the student learning experience. Simon has also led the business in understanding of business analytics to help to guide the strategy to support students and measure the impact of our choices.
